New MobisleNotes is the new MobisleNotes GDocs/Gdrive

We are announcing today that we are discontinuing support for the trusty old GDocs/GDrive version of MobisleNotes for Android, and instead transferring all our paying users to the much improved New MobisleNotes, with free Premium subscriptions to all.

There are several reasons for phasing out Google Docs/Drive support. Let me walk you through it:

  • The Google Docs/Drive APIs have given us a lot of problems in the past, and the latest change to the API from Docs to Drive, which broke the sync for many of our users, was the last straw.
  • MobisleNotes’ app concept is about seamless switching between checklists and plain text, and Google Docs only does plain text. So the Google Docs sync has always been a compromise. And yes, there is Google Tasks, but it’s a whole other service, and pressing the switcher in the app to go to checklist mode would therefore move the whole note to another service, which of course will not fly.
  • One of our core ideas was also to be able to sync notes between all your devices, not just Android, and implementing Google Docs sync on iOS or Windows Phone is much more inconvenient than on Android.
  • All of this made us set out to build our sync service, 100% tailored to our own vision and needs for MobisleNotes. Now we’ve built it, and have the whole ecosystem under our own roof, which we’re really happy with. We can add any features we want, and if anything breaks we know it’s on us, not because of changes with Google. But the problem is we’re now sitting on two apps with two different sync services, which means double the support. And we’re just running the numbers: We’re running into more problems with the Google sync than our own, and we have several times more users on New MobisleNotes than MobisleNotes GDrive.

With all that said, our Google Drive users are paying users, and we’re not just going to abandon them. So, we’ve done a final update to MobisleNotes GDrive to make it work great with the current Google Drive API, so the users that are just hell-bent on Google Apps get what they’ve paid for. AND For the GDrive users that understand the benefits and are happy with switching to MobisleNotes sync, we’ve got some free Premium service coming your way.

We hope this setup will make the very most of our users happy. That’s top priority. And we hope you understand where we’re coming from.

In order to transfer your notes to New MobisleNotes and get your Premium subscription, please follow these instructions:

1. Download the free New MobisleNotes from here:

What we have been doing

Hi everyone,

We have been busy this summer. Allot of work has been done improving and developing MobisleNotes, both for Android and iOS. The long awaited update will among other features have a folder option and a brand new web-sync with our own web-interface. We have worked hard on the stability and performance of the iOS version which we know isn’t the greatest right now.

The app has been completely re-built with major improvements as a result.  With the new web-sync users with an Android phone and for example an iPad will be able to seamlessly edit their notes on both devices.  Stay tuned for the beta release invite release.

We have made a few apps for our costumers as well. One of them was an App for the popular nightclub “Port du Soleil” in Gothenburg. We are very happy with the result and the feature to incorporate the Facebook “check in” as a VIP-card (VAPP) we managed to create a viral social loop.

Notes Pro sneak peek

Hi,

So the 2.0 update and the Notes Pro are taking a little longer then we expected.

New design guidelines

We are sorry for this but the only way we do it is in the way of perfection. We want to give you the best user experience and an app that are at the very top when it comes to design and functionality.

We would like to give you a sneak peek of what to expect in the upcoming update and the release of Mobisle Notes Pro.

To start of we have updated the app to the new guidelines Google has presented and witch can be found in the official Twitter app for Android and the last update of the Facebook app Android. We have changed the look both in the free version and in the pro version. Not seen here is also a loading wheel next to the “edit”-button.

We get load of e-mails, comments and tweets about a widget. And it’s finally here.

Widget

We wanted to give it a look as if you ripped one of the pages of the pad and pined it on the wall. Unfortunately widgets are very limited in terms of functionality but we are very happy with the result.

You are able to switch between Checklist and Plain text as you normally do and the widget will update. A press of the widget till take you in to the note since the interaction with is very limited.

Rest assure we are working very hard to get the Pro version and the 2.0 update up and running as soon as posible.

Thank you for all the great feedback!

Release: MobisleNotes ToDo v1.5

We have just released a big update of our popular notes/to-do app MobisleNotes for Android with a lot of new exciting features. We’ve tried to satisfy most of our users by adding a bunch of frequently requested features:

Password protection – Your notes can now have passwords for extra security. This is done by setting a master password and then pressing the meny-button inside a note, then “Lock”. The password is restricted to numbers.

Reminders - An alarm function is now available for every note. The alarm will show up in the notification bar and can be set individually on every note.

Language support – As a BETA feature we are now trying out the possibility to have different language supports in Mobisle Notes. We will kindly receive improvement suggestions from users since we do not master all supported languages and have to rely on internet translators. At the moment we support : English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Japanese and Swedish.

Preformance and stability - We are constantly working to improve overall stability and performance of our apps and have made major work in this latest patch to insure an even smother “ride”.

GUI enhancements – You can now sort your notes by using “drag and drop”. This is done by pressing the “Edit” button and then dragging the symbol to the left. In checklist mode the checked items will now slide to the bottom and reverse if you uncheck them.

Enjoy
